
The Senate is scheduled to vote later today on the confirmation of former Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue as the next agriculture secretary. Debate is set to begin at 3pm with a vote scheduled for 5:30 and Perdue’s nomination is expected to be easily confirmed. Perdue is expected to be sworn in on Tuesday.
Also on Tuesday the President will host a roundtable discussion with farmers and sign the “Executive Order Promoting Agriculture and Rural Prosperity in America”.
