Many Indiana farmers were able to get a good start on planting last week. According to the latest weekly crop and weather report 15 percent of the corn crop is planted with 2 percent emerged. Regionally corn was 7 percent planted in the north, 15 percent in the central, and 34 percent in the south. Three percent of the state’s soybean crop has been planted and mint planting is nearing completion.
The winter wheat crop is ahead of last year’s pace with 51 percent jointed and 18 percent headed.
