Interest in cover crops continues to grow across the Midwest. However, the adoption of cover crops in some of the northern areas has been more challenging due to shorter growing seasons. There’s just not as much time to establish a cover crop, particularly after harvest.
Michigan State University specialists have been researching the interseeding of different cover crops into corn earlier in the season. MSU Extension educator James DeDecker discusses some of their findings.
