Six leading food companies and agribusinesses that supply Walmart have agreed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to meet Walmart’s new goals.  Walmart launched “Project Gigaton” this week with the goal of cutting emissions from its stores and supply chains.  Walmart’s plan includes sustainable agriculture practices for suppliers, renewable energy use, and waste reduction.

Leaders from Dairy Farmers of America, Land O Lakes, General Mills, Kimberly-Clark, Unilever, and the Colgate-Palmolive Company are among Walmart’s suppliers that pledged to reduce waste and greenhouse gas emissions.
