Corn planting is underway in Nebraska.
Nebraska Farm Bureau president Steve Nelson, who farms near Minden, says they started planting this week and conditions are “about perfect”.
“We have good moisture to plant in and it’s just about as good as it gets,” Nelson says. “We’ve had a couple of showers over the past week or two. But in this part of south-central Nebraska where we are, planting is going good and you see a lot of planters on the move.”
In east-central Nebraska, Dennis Fujan of Prague says he’s ready to go, but rain showers keep pushing him back.
