Wisconsin dairy processors and Ag Secretary Ben Brancel held an emergency meeting this week about the impact of Canadian trade policies.
Seventy-four Wisconsin farmers will have no buyer for their milk May 1st, and Brancel tells Brownfield processors know both a long-term and a short-term solution is needed. “I know that they’re taking it very seriously. Brancel and New York’s Ag Secretary Richard Ball asked the USDA to purchase additional dairy products for school and food aid programs.
