The state veterinarian of Kentucky has lifted the surveillance zones around two poultry farms that tested positive for a low-pathogenic avian influenza (A-I) last month. Tests of the six-mile radius have turned up negative for A-I.
One was a commercial operation with 22-thousand hens, the other a backyard flock of 27-hundred birds in a southwestern Kentucky county.
The quarantine is still in place until both farms are completely cleaned and disinfected.
