The Tennessee state veterinarian has released the control zone surrounding the two Lincoln County poultry farms hit with high path avian flu.
Dr. Charles Hatcher says through testing the department has determined that HPAI has not spread to other poultry flocks within the control zone. But, he says poultry owners should continue to monitor their flocs and report any spikes in illness or death.
The first confirmed detection of HPAI was on March 4, ten days later a second commercial flock also tested positive for the same strain of avian flu.
