Mexico is the latest to give regulatory approval of ChemChina’s proposed acquisition of Syngenta.
The US Federal Trade Commission and European Commission have also approved the transaction with the condition that ChemChina divest its European pesticide and plant growth regulator business.
American Vanguard Corporation, a subsidiary of AMVAC Chemical Corporation, has agreed to acquire ChemChina’s U.S. crop protection assets as part of the merger.
Approval is still needed in China and a few remaining countries for the 43 billion dollar deal be complete which is expected in the second quarter of this year.
