Bids and asking prices are nowhere to be found on Monday. The new showlists appear to be generally larger with only Colorado showing fewer cattle. DTN reports cattle buyers could pay a price for stonewalling the country trade last week. Many packers will start the week extremely short bought and facing large meat orders that need filling. Monday’s slaughter was estimated at 115,000 head, 7,000 more than last week, and 5,000 greater than 2016.
