The vote to confirm Sonny Perdue as Secretary of Agriculture has been pushed to the end of the month. The full Senate will vote on April 24, after they return from their upcoming two-week Easter recess.
According to Agri-Pulse, Senate leaders scheduled the vote after Democrats blocked action on Perdue this week.
Debbie Stabenow of Michigan, the ranking member of the Senate Ag Committee, says she strongly supports Perdue and while disappointed the full Senate did not vote to confirm him this week – she’s pleased the Senate will move his confirmation forward on the Monday they return into session.
