Illinois soybean acreage is up one percent from last year. The USDA says farmers intend to plant 10.2 million acres this spring. Meanwhile corn acres, at 11.3 million, are three percent fewer than last year. Winter wheat acreage is also down. 480,000 acres is 8 percent fewer than last year.
