Symposium explores science of soybean yield
University of Missouri soybean specialist Bill Wiebold says a one-day soybean symposium is important because it explores the science behind Missouri’s number one crop.
“We make more money from soybean than any other crop, and in fact if you add up the acres of all the other grain crops in Missouri it doesn’t match soybeans,” Wiebold told Brownfield Ag News, “so it’s not only important, but the most important crop that we have here in the state of Missouri.”
The symposium is sponsored by the Missouri Soybean Center at the University of Missouri, whose members are primarily part of the plant science and academic community, and who work toward increased soybean profitability.
