Cattle country was quiet on Friday afternoon. Southern business may be done for the week, but light to moderate business was still expected in the North before the end of the day. Many showlists in Nebraska and Iowa seem to be firmly priced at 210.00 to 212.00 plus. There is a sense that area buyers are relatively short bought, it also appears to be true that processing margins are narrowing thanks to struggling beef cutouts.
