On the Plains, mostly dry weather has returned, although a few showers linger across eastern Kansas and environs. Prior to this week’s impressive rainfall event, which resulted in 2- to 5-inch totals across portions of the central and southern Plains, winter wheat was rated 37% very poor to poor in Colorado, along with 25% in Kansas, 23% in Texas, and 19% in Oklahoma.
Across the Corn Belt, a significant rainfall event is underway in the Great Lakes region.
