Slow-moving storms systems will continue to spark widespread precipitation. Each storm will have a trailing cold front capable of producing heavy showers and locally severe thunderstorms. As a result, 5-day rainfall totals could reach 2 to 6 inches across the South, except in southern Florida. Totals of 1 to 3 inches can be expected across the central and eastern Corn Belt; the Mid-Atlantic States; and southern New England. The Intermountain West and portions of the northern and central Rockies can also expect heavy precipitation (locally 1 to 4 inches), including high-elevation snow.
