Activity in cattle country on Monday is limited to the distribution of the new showlists. The bulk of last week’s business took place late Friday afternoon. Southern live deals were marked at 130.00, generally 2.00 higher than the previous week. Northern dressed trade ranged from mostly 210.00 to 212.00, about 4.00 to 5.00 higher than the previous week’s weighted average basis Nebraska. Trade volume looked no better than light to moderate.
Boxed beef cutout values are lower in the morning report, choice beef 219.63, down 1.99, select 215.52, down .03.
