Minnesota Department of Agriculture Commissioner Dave Frederickson says the state has many reasons to celebrate National Ag Day.
“Our farmers in Minnesota are top producers of many of the commodities that are grown here in the state and around the country. We’re leaders in national ag education and leaders in national ag research. So without the great work that our farmers do, and our colleges and universities and public schools, we wouldn’t have this great story to celebrate.”
Minnesota has 81,000 farms totaling nearly 27 million acres, and is the nation’s top producer of sugar beets, turkeys, oats, and sweet corn for processing.
