Rather unsettled weather can be expected across the U.S., with 5-day precipitation totals forecast to range from 2 to 8 inches in northern and central California; 2 to 4 inches in the Pacific Northwest; and 1 to 2 inches in a broad area stretching from the northern Rockies and Intermountain West to the central Plains, mid-South, and Midwest. In fact, mostly dry weather will be limited to portions of the Deep South and the Atlantic Coast States.
