Confirmation hearings for former Georgia governor Sonny Perdue to be the next Secretary of Ag are set to begin Thursday.
In a letter to the Office of Government Ethics last week, Perdue says he will step down from positions at companies bearing his name and restructure several family trusts to avoid conflicts of interest.
Perdue also says he will resign his positions in a number of agriculture organizations including the National Grain and Feed Association and the Georgia Agribusiness Council.
