The feedlot cattle trade is essentially complete for the week. Although it is possible there may be a little cleanup trade today. Asking prices on cattle still left on the showlists are around 128.00 in the South, and 205.00 in the North.
Boxed beef cutout values are sharply higher on Friday morning. The choice is up 4.06 at 219.62, and select is 2.43 higher at 211.43.
For the week ending February 25, cattle carcasses were smaller, all cattle averaged 820 pounds, two pounds lighter than the previous week, and seven pounds smaller than 2016.
