It was dead quiet in cattle country on Friday with business done for the week. Once again the cash and wholesale beef marched forward with cattle futures bringing up the rear by a good distance. Look for feedlot managers to price showlists higher again on Monday, probably around 128.00 or better in the South, and 204.00 in the North. The weekly kill was estimated at 587,000 head, 6,000 above the previous week, and 44,000 more than last year.
