Wisconsin’s Governor wants to put an end to the state’s portion of property taxes.  Governor Scott Walker told farmers during Ag Day at The Capitol Wednesday that it’s not necessary to collect that tax.  “We’re able to fund that, and the forestry related things we do with that, we can fund within the general fund.  We just think it’s an excuse to capture more money for the state and we don’t think we should do that, and it’s one more way to guarantee that long after I’m Governor, property taxes will continue to be low.”

Walker says high property taxes are the issue he hears about most from citizens, especially farmers whose livelihoods depends on having land.
