Jim Zimmerman with the Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board tells Brownfield corn growers want to simplify the fee structure for pesticide manufacturers and labelers in the state. He says the changes could save farmers 25 cents a ton on fertilizer purchases. Zimmerman says the current fund provides resources in the event of a chemical spill or fertilizer environmental cleanup.
