A light to moderate cattle trade developed on Wednesday afternoon in most areas with Southern live sales from 124.00 to 125.00, fully steady with last week. Live sales in Nebraska were at 126.00. Northern dressed business took place from 200.00 to 202.00, steady to 2.00 higher than last week’s weighted average basis Nebraska. Asking prices are now around 127.00 in the South and 205.00 in the North. Cattle slaughter was estimated at 115,000 head, the same as last week, but 3,000 more than last year.
