A Michigan farmer has been elected to the National Association of Wheat Growers board for the first time.
Dave Milligan farms near Cass City in Michigan’s Thumb, growing wheat, corn, soybeans and dry beans. He tells Brownfield his involvement in creating the Michigan Wheat Program and his son coming back to the farm made it a perfect time to serve the industry. “There’s fewer acres, that’s because of reduced profitability, there’s more wheat in the world than we need, so exports are certainly a priority and trying to get more yield with less costs.
