A market analyst says there are plenty of reasons to expect volatility this month.
Elaine Kub tells Brownfield a new WASDE report comes out Thursday, but more attention will be given to USDA’s prospective planting estimates released at the end of March.
“That’s something that almost always results in some wild volatility in the grain markets. I think seven or eight of the last ten years, it’s been double-digit moves in the corn market on the day of that report.”
In between, she says weather expectations for the upcoming growing season will begin influencing trade more significantly.
