Grower leaders from across the country representing soybean and corn crops wrapped up the 2017 Commodity Classic in two different ways.
American Soybean Association delegates when through 55 pages of policy – and TRADE – was a big item. ASA President Ron Moore tells Brownfield Ag News, “Every commodity that exports overseas is nervous because of the withdrawal from TPP but we talked about that in our policy session. We understand it’s withdrawn but we want to do bilaterals and let’s do the bilateral agreements as quickly as possible, using the TPP as a template or framework to go forward with those discussions with individual countries.”
ASA delegates voted in support of doubling the funding in the next farm bill for two USDA programs that promote exports.
