The USDA reports corn, soybean, and wheat export sales for the week ending February 16th were above what’s needed to meet USDA projections for the 2016/17 marketing year.
Wheat came out at 451,300 tons (16.6 million bushels), down 14% from the week ending February 9th and 23% lower than the four week average. Japan purchased 98,800 tons and Algeria bought 82,600 tons, but unknown destinations canceled on 144,600 tons. For the 2016/17 marketing year, wheat sales are 896.1 million bushels, compared to 649.7 million in 2015/16.
