The Minnesota Farmers Union has elected a new vice president and state secretary.
Bryan Klabunde of Mahonomen County fills the seat of former VP Gary Wertish, who replaced long-time MFU president Doug Peterson earlier this year.
Ann Schwagerl from Big Stone County replaces retiring secretary Bessie Klose, who served in that position for nearly 35 years.
The elections were held during a full board of directors meeting, with members also discussing ditch mowing permits, buffer regulations, and the public option on health care.
