4,822 cattle were listed on the Fed Cattle Exchange Auction on Wednesday, but only 1,556 head actually sold. The weighted average price was 118.77, last week’s weighted average was 117.60. The cash cattle market remained unestablished, although there were a few bids and asking prices. Significant interest in doing business has not surfaced and possibly won’t until Friday. The tug of war is very similar to what was seen since late 2016, tight fed numbers on one hand and significant board discounts on the other.
