The Canada-EU trade agreement has been approved today by the European parliament.
The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) eliminates and phases out tariffs and gives new market access to a broad range of products including agricultural commodities.
Other parts of the divisive agreement, besides tariff reductions, need to be ratified by each EU member state, which reports say could take years.
