South Korea has reported six cases of foot-and-mouth disease in the last week. South Korean leaders have told media that both the O-type and A-type strains of the disease have been found. South Korean officials believe the disease might have been carried by wind from North Korea.
The South Korean agriculture ministry announced Monday they will import nearly five million doses of foot-and-mouth vaccine in the next few weeks as they try to keep the disease from spreading further.
