The new cattle showlists were distributed on Monday, and ready numbers appear to be generally larger than last week, especially in the South. Although asking prices are not defined at this point, early guesses are producers will start pricing cattle similar to last week at 122.00 in the South, and 192.00 in the North. The kill was estimated at 445,000 head, 2,000 more than last week, and 29,000 greater than a year ago.
Boxed beef cutout values were higher on moderate to fairly good demand and moderate offerings.
