Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin says she had a productive and positive discussion with incoming Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue Thursday.
Baldwin says they talked about USDA’s role in rural infrastructure, including expanded broadband coverage and trade issues including Canada’s decision to block ultra-filtered milk powder imports. She also told Perdue her concerns about the next Farm Bill, and how the dairy program needs to work better for farmers.
