An analyst says double-digit gains in the wheat market Thursday could be a signal that prices will continue churning higher.
Elaine Kub tells Brownfield the USDA’s latest supply and demand estimates caught many traders off-guard.
“By raising export projections, and therefore cutting the ending stocks projections for wheat; and specifically for the hard wheat varieties. And frankly, it was a little bit surprising.”
Based on the progress of export sales, she says there really wasn’t enough justification to make that projection.
