The leader of a U.S. ag export organization says President Trump should use caution in any renegotiation of U.S. trade agreements.
Tom Sleight, president of the U.S. Grains Council says if given the opportunity, he would encourage President Trump to not scrap trade agreements like NAFTA, completely.
“We already have our key customers looking at alternative sources of supply on feed grains in Mexico. We have a really good thing going there on ag trade, particularly on the feed grain side, so let’s be careful what we scrap and start all over again,” says Sleight.
