Governor Rick Snyder’s 2018 fiscal year budget proposal includes increased funding to attract more food and ag processors to Michigan.

The director of the Michigan Department of Agriculture Jamie Clover Adams tells Brownfield the governor wants to invest $3.2 million in a food and ag investment fund.  “We’ll use that fund to work to facilitate bringing more value added processing to Michigan and expanding the processing we have.”

She says Michigan is currently 19th in the nation for food processing and her goal is for the state to be in the top ten.
