Packer inquiry into the cattle was generally light on Thursday afternoon. A few scattered sales were reported in parts of the North with regional buyers paying 191.00 on the right kind, about a dollar higher than last week’s weighted average. Yet the majors remain cautious in all areas. Trade volume totals are generally moderate, so it remains to be seen whether or not cattle buyers will want to shop further on Friday. The kill totaled 113,000 head, even with last week, but 4,000 more than last year.
