The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association applauds the U.S. House for passing a resolution to repeal the Bureau of Land Management’s Planning rule that it says would have been a huge burden for more than 18-thousand ranchers who operate on BLM-managed lands.
The rule was finalized by the Obama Administration in December. NCBA says it was a “wholesale shift” in the bureau’s management focus away from multiple uses for public lands in favor of “social and environmental change.” And, further, the NCBA says the rule would have eliminated input from stakeholders and local citizens in the planning process.
