Three US ag groups want the Trump administration to address China’s protectionist trade barriers that are shutting out US exports of ethanol and distillers dried grains (DDGs).
The US Grains Council, the Renewable Fuels Association, and Growth Energy have sent a letter to President Trump asking the incoming US Trade Representative to prioritize China’s actions.
Tom Sleight, president and CEO of the Grains Council says the groups worry that the retaliatory tariffs imposed by China in 2016 will put an immediate end to ethanol and DDGS exports to the country.
