USDA Mandatory reported cattle trading in Kansas on Wednesday afternoon was moderate on moderate demand. Live sales were 1.00 higher at 120.00. In Nebraska trading was slow on light demand. A few early sales in Eastern Nebraska sold at 119.00. Trading was inactive in all other feeding regions. The Fed Cattle Exchange Auction on Wednesday had a total of 6,220 head listed for sale, with 3,616 actually sold. The weighted average was 117.60, down from last week’s weighted average of 118.82.The cattle slaughter was estimated at 112,000 head, 3,000 more than last week, and 5,000 greater than last year.
