Brazil’s agriculture minister says rising protectionism in the United States could create opportunities for that country to expand its ag exports.
According to Bloomberg, Blairo Maggi says President Trump’s decision to exit the Trans-Pacific Partnership creates an opportunity for Brazil to increase trades with Asian countries. He says Brazil could also expand exports to Mexico if the U.S. renegotiates the North American Free Trade Agreement.
Maggi says it is good to negotiate trade agreements but it is dangerous to focus on only one country.
