Bids and asking prices in cattle country are not well defined on Monday afternoon. The new showlists appear to be smaller with the lone exception of Texas which is somewhat higher. Significant trade volume will most likely be delayed until the second half of the week. The Monday kill is estimated at 108,000 head, 7,000 below last week, but even with last year.
Boxed beef cutout values were steady to firm on light to moderate demand and offerings.
