There was a light to moderate cattle trade in most areas on Wednesday. The majority of the Southern live deals took place at 119.00, 3.00 lower than the previous week. Northern dressed business was mostly 190.00, generally 3.60 lower than last week’s weighted average basis Nebraska. Some are saying that the attractive basis levels were a factor in getting yesterday’s trade going. While it is possible that business is essentially done in the South, other than possibly a little cleanup, it looks like the North will need to move more cattle.
