Soybeans were higher on commercial and technical buying. Unknown destinations bought 236,700 tons of U.S. beans, with 170,700 for this marketing year and 66,000 tons for next marketing year. The sale was a surprise. Sales to “unknown” are frequently switched to China, which is still celebrating the Lunar New Year and was expected to be out of the market. The trade’s watching South America with at least some rain in the forecast for Argentina and Brazil’s beans heading to port.
