A few scattered bids are being reported by private sources in Texas at 116.00, but the rest of cattle country remains dead quiet on Tuesday. A few Southern asking prices have said to be around 122.00. Cattle futures were hammered with triple digit losses on Monday, creating enormous board discounts and implying impossibly strong basis levels. Feedlot leverage and asking prices can hardly ignore these realities according to DTN analysts.
