Feedlot country was quiet on Friday after Thursday’s trade. Live sales in the South were steady to 1.00 lower at 122.00. Northern trade was steady to 2.00 lower live from 120.00 to 122.00 Dressed sales were 1.00 to 2.00 lower from 193.00 to 194.00. The big market change that developed since Monday has been the reassertion of historically strong basis levels, futures drifted lower as cash sales held near steady. The weekly cattle kill was estimated at 577,000 head, 8,000 more than the previous week and 7,000 greater than last year.
