(Indianapolis) – Jan. 27, 2023 – Indiana Farm Bureau today announced Indiana Farm Bureau Health Plans, a suite of more affordable health care offerings, had over 3,100 active plans in place at year-end 2022 – a growth of over 50% from 2021 – and now cover more than 7,000 Hoosier lives.

Numerous counties in metro areas saw growth over the past year. Most notably, Hamilton and Marion counties. Those counties had the most significant increase in enrolled plans from 2021 to 2022 with over 50 new plans each. Many counties surrounding Indianapolis, including Hendricks, Johnson, Morgan and Hancock counties, and counties in northwest Indiana near Chicago, had an impactful increase as well.

INFB Health Plans also saw growth in rural counties such as Jasper, Dubois and Perry counties with over 20 new enrolled plans each.

“We are happy with the progress of INFB Health Plans as we head into our third year,” said Steve Allen, INFB Health Plans manager. “INFB Health Plans was created to provide the rural community with more affordable health care, but we are finding there is a real need in urban communities as well, showing this is a benefit needed by all Hoosiers.”

For the second year in a row, INFB Health Plans will not raise rates for Traditional Health Plans, which provide health coverage options for individuals and families In addition, INFB Health Plans also announced two new wellness offerings to members in 2023.

INFB Health Plans have teamed up with UMR Wellness CARE to provide easy ways to stay healthy. The offering includes a Clinical Health Risk Assessment to help members recognize and make the most of their health care opportunities, providing a library of health information, videos and interactive “action plan” tutorials.

UMR Wellness CARE also offers the “NurseLine” feature, which connects members to a team of registered nurses who can answer questions and provide advice. Members can either call or easily chat live with a nurse online any time of day, seven days a week.

Additionally, the Maternity CARE Program informs members, who are thinking about having a baby or are in the early stages of pregnancy, about how their own health can influence the future health of their baby.

“With the addition of new offerings like the UMR CARE Programs, we hope members continue to utilize the free wellness resources available to them to stay healthy in an easy, convenient way,” Allen added.

These new offerings join the current wellness resources offered by INFB Health Plans, including easy access to qualified doctors virtually via Teledoc, prescription drug benefits including convenient pharmacy home delivery service with OptumRx and therapist-led virtual care services provided by Talkspace.
