Ag labor is one of the biggest challenges facing many Indiana farmers. With changing regulations and increased costs for guest workers, it’s important to know the resources available to help. Our guest for the June 7 First Friday Ag Forum is Sarah Black, general manager of Great Lakes Ag Labor Services, an affiliate company of Michigan Farm Bureau.
GLALS is the largest agency in Michigan that sources temporary and seasonal labor through the federal H-2A visa program. Now in its 10th year, GLALS has helped nearly 100 farms in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio bring in over 2,200 guest workers.
Sarah Black has spent the first 27 years of her career working for Michigan Farm Bureau. She brings management, policy, political, regulatory and legislative experience to the team at GLALS. In addition, her roots extend deep in ag having grown up on a multi-generational family dairy farm. She is a graduate of Michigan State University’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
Please join us for INFB’s First Friday Ag Forum - Ag’s Workforce Crisis and H-2A - on Friday, June 7 at noon.
